OnStage stands are also made with inert "velveteen rubber" which doesn't react with finishes.

The only place with rubber on the above stand is the two spots that support the bottom edge of the guitar. The neck support and back support near the bottom of the stand are thick felt. It also has fingers that trap the neck.

Mitch, I'm not an expert on the thousands of Strat variations, the factories they are made in, and the various paint lines in those factories over the years, alas.

My guess, though, would be: an air-dry paint (nitro or acrylic lacquer).
