$6K for a NOS CS...

A thousand made, of which probably all still physically exist. I still scratch my head on this one. Get yourself a pristine, rare coloured, V63 instead for roughly a third of the price.
It's the same bass...

Over the last two years I've paid just a little less than that price(combined) for three early 73's all with checkered binding. I guess the prices are driven by what turns you on and in some people that just happens to be Chris Squire. For me it just happens to be checkered binding and in the last couple years the early 73's have been pretty affordable, almost a bargain looking back. I'm here to warn you though, just about anything with checkered binding in good condition is going to priced with a 2 as a first digit in the price(in reference to 73's).

I'm with Andy on this one.

And look at the testosterone-fuelled bidding war. A textbook example of how not to bid on an ebay auction.

Now if I can only get RIC to stop making the C64S so that the value of mine will get out of control too.

I'd feel better if I owned two, that way I could sell one, keep one for free, and still have cash left over to buy a few more tools.
