You know guys we need a fenced off password protected area where we can discuss politics and rock and roll in context. Because I do agree that you can't speak about the way material was written and presented without looking at the drivers that shaped the music.

Just a passing thought.

I think the Beach Boys played the WH as part of the damage control for Watt firing them.

>>Bobby McFarren's people got hold of his people and told 'em 'ix-na<<

And/or ASCAP calling and also saying "pay us such and such amount."

>>Can you imagine a bunch of 18-year-old Metallica heads sweatin' in some makeshift desert amphitheater listening to "Danke Schoen"?<<

No, especially when one considers Newton probably can't even get a Vegas gig these days.

Well, they probably got Wayne because Barry Sadler was unavailable.

Green Zone, heh, Dane? Is that anything like the Home Zone?

Reading about Wayne Newton reminds me of the time I was on a cruise and Vic Damone played the ballroom as a featured "act".

His show was lethargic, the genre was stale and the audience let him know it.

I felt somewhat sorry for him. But that feeling quickly subsided. That's a whole other story.

Wayne Newton...a guy who sounds like a girl but looks like a TV preacher? Wow. Got to be corn-fusin'

John, thanks for the link. Now I have to wash my hands and face. I feel icky...

I liked McCartney's take better. "It's a fine line between chaos and creation."

Thanks for reminding me Dane. I have to find my receipts so I can return some defective items to the Dope Depot

I like Spinal Tap's take best of all: "It's such a fine line between clever and stupid".

Maybe I'll see you down there, Brian...I need some more of those lil' bitty 'plumbing' screens...oh, yeah, and some pipe cleaners! Better make a list or I'll get sidetracked in the gardening section (like I always do)...

HA... leave it to Spinal Tap to come up with some of the greatest lines ever. On a chuckle scale of 1 to 10, Tap goes to 11.

“Get Over It,” by The Eagles.... your momma's too thin and your daddy's too fat, get over it.

Sometimes I feel like there's an entire generation that needs to take that song to heart. But of course that's just my oh-so humble opinion.

How old is Wayne Newton these days... 450? Does he use some kind of anti-aging cream that we all should know about?

There's a fine line between TV news anchors and the Naked News anchors.
