Ticket to ride, guitars

I just had a closer look at Ticket to Ride:
I can hear 4 guitars:
the Rickenbacker 12-string,
the 325 Miami strumming together with the 12-string (to me it's not the Jumbo, plugged in),
the Gretsch Tennessean, playing not much, but the single a notes and the "foot pedal" chords,
the Casino with Paul's fill ins
and the Hofner bass.

Why do I mention this today?
I bought me two new affordable guitars last week:
a Danelectro 12 String (Korean made)
and a Gretsch 5125 (Koran made)
so my guitars are:
Rickenbacker 325V63 with 7.4 kOhm Toasters,
Epiphone Casino sunburst (Korean made),
Gretsch Electromatic 5129 (Korean made, with DeArmond2000 pickups)
Danelectro 12 String (Korean made, with 4kOhm
Lipstick pickups),
Hofner Travel guitar "Shorty" (one bridge humbucker)
and a Hofner Shorty bass, short scale, even a bit shorter than the BeatleBass')

So I could play Ticket to ride with my
Danelectro (not too bad whith Pyramids and a VOX-like amp) and my 325V63 and my Gretsch (not perfect for a Tennessean and HiLos, but it sounds gretschy anyway), with my Casino and with my Shorty Bass.

All my guitars are strung with Pyramids or Thomastic-Infeld flatwounds.
Well, I'm in guitar heaven, now, but:

the next one could be a Rickenbacker!

Some believe John used his new sonic blue strat for Ticket To Ride in the studio. The Beatles strats were received during the HELP sessions.

The droning guitar throughout could definitley be a Strat.

Karl and John,
I'm a bid puzzled, now.
Karl, do you think the guitar John played was his Fender, not the 325?
And John, do you think that is was not the Tennessean George played as second guitar, but his new Strat?
That is:
Rickenbacker 12-string (George)
Fender Strat (John)
Fender Strat (with foot pedal, George)
Casino (Paul)?

Hmmm, of course this has been debated over and over, but I don't believe the Strats showed up until the Rubber Soul sessions, later in the year.

The Beatles were still recording with Vox AC100's during the HELP sessions. Those Vox amps are very clean and very loud. Think a 100 watt Fender Twin loud! Possible a 325 could make that same sound going through a cranked AC100. It is well documented that John and George received their new Strats during the HELP sessions. Who woundn't want to try out a new toy?

It's in the Beatles Gear book.

There are also photos out there of Lennon during the HELP sessions playing his Strat.

The deal also was that Brian Epstein agreed to pay for both Strats if Mal Evans could go out and find two in the same colour.

...our rhythm guy uses a 325

Yes, a 360. Or a tulip shaped black Combo for me.

Sorry, once again to the Help! sessions: I do believe they received their Strats after recording Help (the song)
and that they used it on 10th of may 65 for the first time on Dizzy Miss Lizzy (George) and Bad Boy (George and John). And then on I'm down (George) and It's only love(John and George).
Not on Act naturally (I hope) but probably on Wait. But I think the volume pedal guitar was the Tennessean.
But this is only speculation...

I've always thought the lead on "You're Gonna Loose That Girl" sounded like Rocky. And maybe John strumming along strumming along on his as well. I've always been curious how much Lennon played his, because he really doesn't strike me as a chop and change guitar sort of guy, so I tend to believe he's on the 325 unless I have proof otherwise. It's surprising how similiar you can get a Strat and a Ric to sound out of a Vox if you use a little compression and tweak things in just the right ways.
