The first bit sounds very Marshall/Celestion-y, but the later live footage looks like a Vamp or HH transistor amp.. but i thought he always used Marshalls during that time?

Very cool. Gotta love YouTube. In the first part they list him as "Chris Squires". He's probably used to that. I like their honesty here (especially Wakeman talking about not knowing what to play).

How old is Chris in that clip?

In '72? Maybe 23? I think he was born in March of '49.

Chris was born in '48. All of these guys were in their early 20's, were doing such phenomenal music with such great things to come for them. Unfortunately Jon's prediction that musicians and music would be so great 15 years down the road was not to be....at least in popular music. As Tom Petty sang, "**** is king".

Wakeman always had a great sense of humour. Never very serious about anything and that's usually a trait of someone who does have humility.

I remember seeing a special where the band turn up for a gig in London in their limo' and he pulls up 10 minutes late in an old Morris Minor. Very funny....

How long had CS been playing by the time Fragile came out? That run he does at the beginning of the clip is pretty sick-***. It makes me feel like I'll never get to that stage and I've been playing for a year now.Anybody know what exactly he is playing there?

I think he'd been playing for a good while then, but then again, if I recall correctly, he was self-taught, which should give quite a bit of confidence to all the people who are not theory, technique or composition experts (myself included).
