Great shot. He's reacting to the noise swell in the stadium...just making some nonsense sounds as if he were addressing the masses...laughed really hard when I saw him do it--it's captured in Anthology.

That 1st Shea concert really must have been an event. Listening to tapes of the crowd noise is startling.

Yup, Shea Stadium wouldn't sound like that again 'til the Mets won the series in '69...

Fortunately for the Mets, they didn't depend on a monitor mix and were able to rely on hand signals.
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

In most pic's you can't tell the 325 is a short scale but here its obvious.
