I don't know much about RIC cases, but the one that came with this bass doesn't have any RIC/Rickenbacker insignia anywhere. Would an original case have had some kind of Rickenbacker marking?

Mine doesn't, and it is the original '67 case.

The only RIC cases I have that bear the company name are the silver VRI cases and the SKB cases. All of the rest are plain.

Hey John, haven't been around for a few days - congrats on the 4005 and isn't it great it has the sound you really were looking for! You said it was really something to hehold; I'd wager it is also really something to HOLD! ;)
