Even the devil likes Rickenbacker

So I was browsing through some of my old Bathory stuff and saw that Quorthon (RIP) was a Ric player. I believe Cronos from Venom played one on occasion too.

I can almost hear Charlie Daniels in a duel with the Devil-the Devil simply bows his head cause he ain't got no crunchy bass sound that can rival the good guy's 4003....

Yeah... A Fender Precision! LOL

It is one hell of an evil-sounding tone, isn't it? Crikey....

I don't know, old Fripp persuading Wetton to make his bass sound like a broken washing machine..

Sorry to reawaken an old thread, but what King Crimson song, or album is that from?!?

I'm just getting into Yes and King Crimson, but I need to get whatever album that's from...RED perhaps?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

That would be "Larks Tongues In Aspic, Part II", I believe. Great song . . . great album, but not as good as "Starless & Bible Black" or "Red". Those three, though, are shining examples of how a P-bass can kick major butt.

Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath could coax some seriously evil tones out of his p-bass in the early Sabbath days.

I believe I recall seeing several pictures of Geezer Butler playing a Rick back in the 70s...

I think he traded a T bird for his to the guy from Deep Purple.. maybe Roger Glover? Well anyway, Geezer used the fireglo 4001 on the Never Say Die concert video. Not sure if he used it in the studio.
