"Can't wait to see how you represent a curmudgeon!"

That's easy. You need a pic of Wilfred Bramwell, the bloke who played Paul's grandfather in the film a Hard Days Night and a Rickenbacker instrument overlayed on top.

A running joke is made throughout the film of his character being "a very clean old man." This is in reference to his on-screen son, Harold, in Steptoe and Son constantly referring to his father as "you dirty old man!" (In real life too, he was nothing like his Steptoe persona, being dapper and well-spoken). Sort of like our curmudge eh? Dapper and well spoken.

Bramwell grumbled a lot and was most definitely a bit of a curmudgeon in the film.

For those who need to know the meaning of the word.

Main Entry: cur·mud·geon
Pronunciation: (")k&r-'m&-j&n
Function: noun
Etymology: origin unknown
1 archaic : MISER
2 : a crusty, ill-tempered, and usually old man

Great idea Steve! I was thinking about going the route of making special ones for each forum, but your design nails it for me.

That's better. The white shadow was bugging me. Sorry for the repetition. I'm stopping now. I promise.

Wow, these are all so creative! What a great thread, and love the idea of separate logos for each thread.

And Peter, whenever you're doing maintenance on the site, you should use Mark Sanders' "(lack of) RickResource" image as your splash page. That one was hilarious!

Nice of all you to talk about me--and even design my logo--behind my back, while I'm here talking guitars with Aitch and going to dinner at Outback, etc...

Two things:

For some odd reason, I've grown from a typical hippie character in the late '60s into a guy who a number of friends think is a dead ringer for Wilfred Bramble, especially when I wear my trademark National Health Service specs and my Kangol, both of which preceeded my total hair loss in 1983.

People who actually get to know me say I'm more like Victor Meldrew, but I don't beleeeeeve that.

Short of it: I look nothing like that bent over bud old griff in that otherwise excellent logo design, and seldom walk with a cane since my heart, lung, and, er, other organ transplant have taken hold.

In short, I ain't 80 yet.

Nor am I baggy.

Oh, what's that you say, the logo's only taking the pi**?

Oh, never mind, then...
