Mini-mini-confluence in NYC

Post by jdogric12 »

I will be in New York City this weekend. I'm going to try to see Biscuti's band play Saturday night (my birthday by the way!) so if any other forumites are in the big apple, let's meet up and hang out!

J-dog and I had our mini-mini confluence today. We ate at Maxie's Deli and killed time on 48th St. (Manny's, Rudy's, Sam Ash). He fell in love with a c63 in the window of Rudy's - he even asked "How much is that Ricky in the window?"

He picked up some strings that "they don't have in Tampa anymore" and I got some felt picks and a new gigbag for my 4005WB.

He's supposed to be coming to a gig of mine tonight on Staten Island, if he can find his way there. See you there, J?

Wow, sorry I missed this. I was just blocks away. And I've seen that c63.

Wish you'd been there Glenn! One more person would have upgraded us to a "mini-confluence". Image

J-dog missed my gig, but we'll be doing lots of jamming to make up for it next week.

John, we'll have to shoot for it again. Some other forum members are close by (Ira_marlowe in NJ, etc.)

And with NYC being a crossroads for so many people at one point or another, organizing a small one here shouldn't be difficult.

Just got back in front of a computer again. Had a great time, butt...

as John said, I did miss the gig. Murphy's law in full effect. I did a great job navigating the subways, but the train I needed wasn't running all the way to the SI ferry like usual, so I had to get on another train, take that to a shuttle bus, then when I got to the ferry, it was 30 minutes late. Got a cab to the club and found John standing outside. The show was over. Oh well, at least I got to see the 4005 and some really cool music shops. Held a 360/12c63. Yowza. Those are real purty.

Thanks again John. You should talk to the mayor about those parking and cigarette prices.

The cigs here are pricey on account of the fact that they aren't for smoking. They're souvenirs for tourists.

I'm just glad I packed two packs in my suitcase.
