Has anyone ever thought of getting a 1996 and converting it to John Fogerty specs? (Ric Humbucker in the bridge position(No PAFs!), B5 and bowtie bridge, ACME TRC)I thought it would be cool to toy around with, although a pricy model and not one I own.

It'd be neat to see one. Just make sure to get one of the original batch that went to Japan with the 'other style' f-hole...(1pm style).

Obviously back in the 70s and 80s a lot of people modified guitars.

But in the wake of the vintage guitar boom, people like John F are said to regret what they did to their guitars.

I find that I can still get a great Fogerty sound from my Model 350 with high gains and playing through a closed back cabinet, particularly a Marshall. The Fender Bassman cab is also quite close.

I do not think that the Rickenbacker Humbucker will achieve the Fogerty tonality, but never say never in this world of seemingly unlimited amplifiers and effects circuitry.

I use my 360 for all the Creedence tunes my band plays. It just sounds so right! Good thing there aren't many solos to contend with! LOL!

Seems to me there were some shows with John F. in the past ten years or so and he was playing a 360 in them.

This is a funny thread. I knew a guy in Chgo who wrote and recorded originals and his stuff sounded so much like John F it was scary. Never thought I'd hear someone who sang just like him but he did.
