I just checked my ebay search and saw this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&item=250020743533&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
An all original 1979 4001MG & a slightly modded refined 1976 3000 for $1100 BIN.
I looked at the ad for 2-3 minutes and then noticed somebody bids on it starting at $850 removing the BIN! Are people idiots? Now it will probably go over the original $1100 that it could have been bought with. I was thinking about using the BIN and reselling both. Some people just don't make any sense!

He who hesitates is lost! Ouch....

I just looked at the two basses - wow. Really nice maple on the 4001. I has to be tough letting both of those go.

Ben, maybe you can contact the seller to end the auction early when you offer him $1100

Auction ended early!

should be here in about a week, meaning, i have a 26 year old 4001 for my 26th birthday (sept 1)...and right in time for recording the new alum.

i can't believe it myself...

i hope to hold onto the 3000, depending on how playable a short scale is for me. but - if it doesn't fit, i might have to let it go as i can't afford to have non-practical possessions as a student.

hopefully i'll convince myself otherwise - as i'm sure i'd end up kicking myself in the end.

Nice score Bryce. If you don't like the 3000 I may be interested in it so let me know. I kinda like 'em.

yeah - due thanks ben!

i've been watching ebay.ca closely, this one didn't show as the listing was for the US only. the owner was/is a great guy to deal with.
