Well, my real purpose of posting the two covers were due to the "who'd a thunk it" factor.
"Also, I really love Yes's cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "America"."
For me, that is the classic sound of the Fragile lineup of Yesmen. Really cook on that one (album, longer version)! I like playing the S&G and Yes versions back to back.

My favorite cover is "You Shook Me" (written by Willie Dixon and J.B. Lenoir) - Featured on the Jeff Beck "Truth" Album. Rod Stewart was a band member and handled the lead vocal.
About a year after the Truth album was released it was recorded by Led Zeppelin with a very similar arrangement. Beck and Page became distant after that event. Their longtime friendship had hit an all time low because of the similarity of the arrangement.

There is a Raspberries tribute CD out that has a pretty twisted version of one of their pop hits, can't remember, but it's pretty cool.
Brain, the Page - Beck story is interesting. Of course Jimmy's penchant for theft took many forms. I have no respect for the guy and, apparently, neither does Beck.

This is off the record
