I wonder if that was new stock to the store and they sold it for what was the original street price? Seems strange that they wouldn't know what these command now. Oh well - someone got a heck of a deal!

Remember that dealer who has THREE?

Brian, you know who he is...I believe you had some contact with him a while ago.

He decided to sell ONE of his LK's. The price you ask???

FIFTEEN THOUSAND quoted via Email.

I hope PM Blues chokes on it and it doesn't sell. The more I think about it, the more it bothers me that he bought these as a dealer and marks them up that much to put towards his kid's education (what he told me on the phone last year). Why are his financial issues my problem? As a dealer I think it is his responsibility to sell inventory at or near recommended list price. What would stop a dealer from ordering 90% of available units and holding them all hostage. Mike Parks had, I believe, 15 or so LK's ordered and if he did the same that would have removed 25% from the market.

BTW....congrats to the new owner of the LK for $2K. Excellent!

Brian,

Agreed!

With the 75 Anniversary issues right around the corner. Who's to stop him from doing it AGAIN this time around?

HE had a few STUNNING Monty's available a while ago, AFTER they were discontinued, but I waited and went to the dealers I've mentioned below. They came through AGAIN & AGAIN.

This is the very reason I only deal with Mike Parks or Chris Clayton. Honesty & integrity is priceless to me.

Anyone we know get that LK for 2K?

For that much money, a bass had better be able to tune and play itself and then load itself out at the end of the gig...

Ya know, you could buy a lot of books and pencils for some Palestinian kids with that kind of bread...

$2K is about right for a Lemmy.

$2K-ish is what a new LK should be priced at. Taking CS's, 4005's, '68-early 73's, 4002's, Blackstars, Rednecks and Tux's into consideration I think $5K is a "reasonable" used price. I am somewhat biased but with the features/uniqueness it's not that out of line comparatively speaking.
