Beware of the "Second Chance Offers" that you sometimes get from eBay... there are evil-doers that lurk in the waters of the bay! They keep their eyes on certain auctions and then... when all is said and done... they'll contact the folks who didn't win and try to scam money off them! Try to contact the original seller to verify if it's an authentic 2nd chance!

thanks alvaro, i'm checking into it.

looked pretty official, but doesn't hurt to confirm.

i'm assuming that the seller is willing to let it go at a much lower price than high-bid due to the fact it was an estate sale...

i'm sure the buyer picked it up for quite a ridiculously low price. of course, that is merely an assumption

$1000 is a good price for a clean AG.

hmm.. starting to loks pretty sketchy.

the reply from my inquiry was composed of pretty horrid grammar - over seas scam?

i had asked a couple q's during the auction and have asked to have those sent back to me from the seller's ebay account...

Would you like egg rolls and wonton soup with that bass?

did the offer come through ebay's 'my messages" section? if by email-beware!

I get "second chance" offers on stuff I didn't even bid on.

Bryce, always look at any supposedly-from-eBay message with "full headers on" in your e-mail browser. Look at what I posted in this thread:

Yeah Bryce, I agree that this is a scammer. Any guitar I've bid on in the last few months has generated at least one bogus "second chance offer." Some have even generated as many as three offers from three different parties at different prices, all claiming to be the seller. They ask you to contact them at their email address and not through their ebay ID. I usually reply to them with offensive language and suggestions!

hmmm. well if it is fake - it is a good one, the links do link back to the auction/ebay etc.

but it originally came from a gmail account?

i'll wait to hear back about my verification enquiry sent directly to the seller from ebay.

here's hoping...

Run, don't walk away from that one if the message is not in your messages area in your Ebay account. The email does not come from the users's own email directly. Second chance offers come THROUGH Ebay and will show up in your messages if they are real.
