Seventeen grand? Good thing I'm not a fan of the 4005. Yes, I know they're fine basses, but the shape just does nothing for me.

I'll bet that's the one Dave and I saw in Philly last May, rumored to have sold at top-dollar, and then some...

If it isn't raining tomorrow like it has been a lot lately over here, I'm gonna be going into the west of of London....I always have a look around Denmark street especially as there are always Rics in the stores.

If I do I'll take a peek as I've never even clapped eyes on a 4005....I WON'T be taking my credit card with me though as to avoid any temptation!....

....Not that the price is very tempting anyway...

The one you saw at Philly went to the California Guitar Center- they paid $9500.00 for it.

For anyone looking for one, Rics R' Us has two in stock - a '66 going for £3995 and an '81 going for £2995. Not bad deals at all.

Anyone know what the Rose Morris 4005 went for, ultimately?

Robert, I'm keeping that under my hat for the time being - I'll e-mail you off-Forum.

Oh, yes, it will be there! It and the 4003S/5 SPC "quasi-Blackstar" need to have their pictures taken for Paul's book.
