Not sure where to put this...

Post by captsandwich »

I had nothing to do with this, but I checked today to see if my band's website had been updated to include our upcoming show & this is what I found:

http://www.skaface.ca/main.html

Maybe they all chipped in and bought me a present?
Wishful thinking on my part, I guess.

Are you talking about this write-up Greg?

"Greg bought his first electric guitar from a nun. It's been all downhill for his soul since then. He has played in a bunch of bands. Almost 25 years later, he still hasn't learned how to read music. The band occasionally lets Greg sing, mostly to keep him from sulking."

Your band mates like taking the mickey out of you I see. They sound like they are a lot of fun to hang around with.

Actually, I wrote that, and every word is true Image

I was referring to the AC30 in the ad, in case anyone is wondering.

You bought an electric guitar from a nun? Now there's a story that needs to see the light of day, if I ever ran across one.

Yes I saw the Vox. Wishful thinking though, I suspect.

15 year old punk rocker buys a guitar & amp from a nun. Doesn't everyone have a story like that?

Some time later said nun enters the bank where the punk's mother works, and mom says "Sister, you're responsible for the horrible racket coming from my basement!" Image

The nun was in the same convent as my best friends aunt & had an old Sears guitar & amp lying around. Later I bought a Boss flanger and an MXR distortion from another friend's brother, who was a Brother at a local monastery. No lie.

What a great story. It sounds a bit like an early "Blue Brothers" script. At least you did not refer to her as "The Penguin".
