Tom Petty on Leno w/ Rickenbacker 12 string

Did anyone else see him last night, 8/23/06?

It was good to see Tom with a Rickenbacker 12-string, a mapleglo and his bass player was using a 4003, I think. It had the sharkfin inlays!

Was this a rerun from the show Tom played a few weeks ago on Leno?

Yes --- the show two weeks ago (Aug 24th) was the same performance taped and broadcast at the end of July. The original show was broadcast on Thursday July 20th. I remember, because Jay Leno announced that TP & the Heartbreakers would play at the Hollywood Bowl upcoming here on Sept 26th -and lucky enough I was able to score tickets the day they went on sale in July !

Hey Rich, Heidi and I will be at the TP Bowl show. Scored orchestra pit (center-pool) seats!!

Well, if enough Ric Forum-ites are attending the TP&HBs Hollywood Bowl show on Sep 26th, maybe we'll have to have a mini-confleunce somewhere on site and compare notes on which Rics Campbell, Petty, Blair and Scott Thurston use during the show and how particular Rics on certain tunes sounded, etc.

Perhaps we ought to change the name of this "thread" to Tom Petty Hollywood Bowl or something like that, to zero in on more Ric Forum-ites ??
