Dane, that HOB report was excellent. Thanks a bunch. It was great meeting you and your wife, by the way. Sorry I couldn't say my goodbyes!

I was of course disappointed that I couldn't make the HOB, as it was the "big finale." But like Scott (It was great meeting you as well, Scott - love the 4000) said earlier, this totally went beyond guitars.

I had such a wonderful time with such wonderful people who I am now proud to say that I've met in person, joked with, had some drinks with, jammed with, etc. I really hope we can all get together and do this again sooner than later. Even if it were in Australia, i'd strongly consider making the trip.

Oh Alan, your comments about Dale are dead on as well. He jump started all of us and outshined us all as well. Dale, you've got a killer voice, you're a great guitar player, and your outgoing personality kept the night alive. Sorry I missed you on Saturday and Sunday!

For the curious, Dale brought along a guitar he had built back in the 70's, which he called sort of a Fenderbackeribson - it had 2 p-90's and sounded great.

I didn't get to stay the entire weekend due to work commitments, but I have to say that the 75th Confluence was entirely enjoyable. It was great putting faces to many of the folks here at the Forum as well as those at RIC. While there were many amazing things to see (including my first 4005 - thanks Jerry!), the people were the highlight. The common pool of knowledge we all share definitely made for some interesting conversations. Unfortunately, after seeing the various instruments on display, I now feel that I need a 4005, 4002, a Bigsby equipped 325V59 (like Melissa's), etc...

It also sported a Strat style pickup selector switch.

Glad you enjoyed it, Dane. Obviously I regret not being able to be there because of work but because of work I've had more fun at RIC than I ever dreamed. So I can't knock it.

In some of the shots I've seen of the tour that were taken of the Frying Pan, I can see the reflection of the ad that I worked on hanging on the opposite wall. That was a blast and it's great to see it there in such esteemed company. I aim to get back and see it all again one day.

Here, for me, are my personal weekend hilights:

Meeting and spending all that time with the forumites. What a genuine group of people.

Shaking Chris's hand and getting to thank him for his body of work - and comparing the size of our big mitts! He won. By almost 125%!

Everything RIC did/provided/showed to us. The Halls really know how to throw a party!!!

Seeing the Purpleburst, the Mink bass, a 4005, the Anniversary color, and all the other Rick instruments I've read about but never seen before. I want to go on record saying Paul B.'s Mink bass is the most stunning Rick instrument I've ever seen and I went way beyond GAS or even lust - I was plotting ways to get it out of there and not getting killed!!

Of course the tour.

Getting to chat with Paul Kantner.

Laughing almost constantly for 4+ days.

Personal low points:

Missing Suzanna at the Meet & Greet! I see others met her but I missed seeing her. Sigh....

"Bottles" - I'll say no more, but 'Aitch alluded to his abilities as a teacher in another thread.

I'm sure there were more highlights but I'm still in a sleep-deprived fog.
