You probably make a valid argument except that I am not the forum administrator and we don't have a team here to police what may be viewed by some as personal attacks on the validity of any particular authors work.
I reserve comment on the book at least until until I have read and digested it. I also therefore, reserve comment on any comments about the book that have been posted.

We're slowly getting this rig off the shoulder and back onto the road...although I think I still hear one of those back tires rubbing...hope there's air in the spare.
First and foremost, we share information here, discuss it's validity, and express our opinions. Next, if we're overwhelmingly convinced of our positions, we try persuading others...a bit of a (pardon the 'F' word') fool's errand, sometimes, but 'there you go'...
Occasionally in our zeal, we find ourselves challenging 'authorities' whose work takes place outside this Forum, and some name-calling may ensue in the process, but we try to address each other directly as comrades and equals, having some very obvious and basic things in common...may seem slightly hypocritical, but again: 'TYG'.
(I, for one, acknowledge having once or twice disparaged the Commander-In-Chief of the U.S., but that's different...he happens to be one of my employees...)
The 'Bottom Line': we try to treat this place like a very hip party we're happy to be allowed to attend, and one we'd hate to be given the bum's rush from...feel the need to pick a fight? "Take it outside..."
Calling Geoff Emerick "seedy," "decrepit," and a "******" is not an attack on the validity of his book, it is an attack on him personally.
All I am trying to say is that if you're all going to be jumping on me for my alleged bad behavior in "attacking" a fellow forum member, you should have been all over David Clarke days ago for his nasty and vile attacks on an industry legend. If he had used such terms to describe one of the four Beatles, or George Martin, I doubt anyone here would have let it pass.
I think you are saying that you (collectively) expect a certain degree of respect and civility among posters in the comments they make about one another, and for that I applaud you. But that same degree of respect and civility should be shown towards others as well. That is all I am saying.
When training a new puppy, it's far more productive to administer a friendly spank on his furry little nose with a rolled-up newspaper than to put a steel-toed boot up his waggy little tail...

Money. That's that stuff with dead presidents and suspiciously young looking monarchs on it, that grows on trees in North America (at least my kids used to think so when they were young).
So perhaps check out the trees and shrubs in your neighborhood Dane. You never know?

Well, Brian...been around the block three times now and couldn't find any...lot's of little green things on all the trees, but no young presidents or dead-looking monarchs to be found among them...
I'd heard that time is money, so I threw my digital alarm clock against the wall, but guess what: nothing in there but little bits of plastic...although I have heard about people 'buying' things with plastic, but I'm not sure how that works at all...
