75th Anniversary Orders taken today..however...

Post by ealdrett »

I just received word that each dealer worldwide will be allowed to only order 2 of each model.
Meaning, pickings will be slim. Not sure why this is happening but I'm now trying to locate a dealer that is willing to reserve a 4003 for me since my favorite dealer already has his two reserved and I was the third on the list.
I'm just bumming right now.

Have you tried the usual suspects around Seattle? I knew there was going to be a mad run for basses, so I put in my request a week or so ago for a 360.

The only usual suspects according to the RIC website are two places. Bass Northwest and Music 6000 in Olympia. Not sure why Guitarville and Trading Musician aren't on the list.
Yeah, I placed a down payment with Chris at Pick of The Ricks over a month ago and I didn't make the cut...yet.
Definitely a mad dash!

Just found out that Sam Ash is taking orders for the 4003. Out of all places. However, they did say that their online store is separate from their retail stores. So not sure how it's going to work but the nice person that took my order is going to call RIC and find out.

I guess Sam Ash is getting the same scenario as with other dealers. I just ordered the second one from Sam Ash from one store.
Total cost: $1599 with no tax and shipping! WOOHOO!!!! I'm a happy camper!!

Mike,
I just checked the Rickenbacker website of dealers. I assume these are the Rickenbacker approved dealers that can order Rickenbackers directly.

My dealer just called me and said he definately got his order in today, for my 75th Anniversary 4003! It's a done deal. He only ordered the one for me. He's giving it to me at a VERY good price! I've got Edgar beat by a bit.

My first new Rick. Can't wait!!

I just hope it does end up having the slimmer neck. My '87 4003 has a slim neck and I really like it.

I just realized that I forgot to find out about what case will ship with it. I called the dealer back and he did not know. Has anybody heard?

Greg,

Score!! Right on!!
I haven't heard anything about the case either. The CSR at Sam Ash that helped me out didn't know either. I suppose I can ask her to find out? Image

Scott,

There are pics of it on the other 75th Anniversary thread in the bass section.
