Low end gets thin on my 4001.

Thanks for all the advice!

I re-soldered everything I could find; I didn't notice any cold solder joints, but I re-soldered everything anyway, paying special attention to the jack. I got through one practice and a four hour gig last night with no problems. Sounds like a fix to me!

Yeah that two jack system is complicated and there are a lot of places that can touch and short out or open. You have to be very careful when you put the stereo jack back in it's easy to short wires, maybe someone had it out once. The contacts can become dirty also and be intermittent, spray some de-oxit on them, don't use sandpaper.
