Bob-- ANYTHING by Steppenwolf is great up through "For Ladies Only", regardless of the type of bass used.

Cygnus X-1 and Freewill by Rush, and Down In The Tube Station at Midnight by The Jam. All three are really good examples of the round wound sound.

Here's a question, Does anyone here know what songs that Paul Siminon of The Clash used his 4001FG on? I have seen pictures of him playing it, but only rarely. Usually he is seen with his white Precision, and In, "London Calling", video he is seen with an EB-2.
"Lost In The Supermarket", sounds like a Ric to me
and also, "Train In Vain".

What about Andy Rourke on the early The Smiths stuff. A lot of those early 80's alt-Rock and New Wave bands liked the Rics. Especially the UK bands.
