Ric Warrantly card question.

Post by mike_d »

Okay, my 1996 arrived yesterday and I'm preparing to send in the warranty card. The card says to register, I need to send the warranty card and a copy of the sales receipt. It's been a few years since my last brand new Ric, but I don't recall having to send in a copy of the receipt, just the card. the card has a place for a stamp, but not a proper envelope to actually send a receipt along with it. Just curious. I can always toss everything into an envelope.

Anyone? So, I need to also send in a copy of my receipt?

I imagine it can't hurt. You can still keep your original. When you make that copy, make a copy for yourself, since some receipts' inks fade over time.

If it is new, I can certainly understand why. I've bought (and sold!) lots of used Ricks that still had the warranty card untouched.

It's not that new...at least a couple of years. Just send in the receipt. There are at least two reasons I can think of that RIC would want this. Both would help their tracking of sales and keeping unauthorized dealers in check.

Well, 2002 was my last new Ric purchase. I just had to send in the card. The new warrantly states that you need to send in a receipt as well.

It might be helpful to get rid of the "Place Stamp Here" box on the warranty card or put a fold over tab that will let you seal it up with the additional paperwork. I crammed it all into an envelope and made Xerox copies and sent it off.

I called Ric customer service earlier today and chatted with Kenny briefly about it . My new Ric was missing the case keys and wrenches so he's going to send a replacement set.

RIC would prefer you to send in the receipt. However, if you send in the Warranty card alone, you will still have the warranty.

I send both in just to make sure there is no question.

I've always sent in a copy of the receipt along with the warranty card.
