How rare? C64S?
Hey guys glad to be a new member of the forum. I own a 2005 4003 Mapleglo. I just completed the dream and put down on a new C64S. How select a group are we? This thing has the best neck I've ever felt. I won't ramble on. Happy to be here guys!

Happy to have you. I am a satisfied C64S owner. I'm not sure how many owners their are here on the Forum, but I have a feeling that their are a few more C64 owners than C64S. It would be a good poll to put in the field Richard.
Once again welcome aboard.

I think it stands for "sanded". I could be wrong. Regardless, it is basically McCartney's bass circa 1970's.

Yeah the neck feels great. The guy who sold it to me says is a Rick that plays like a Fender. I don't know about all that but it sure feels good. When I finish paying it off in about two weeks, ill post pics of my C64S w/ its more modern brother. My '05 4003 Mapleglo.

Interesting phenomenon concerning the C64S you sold me Bob.
The satin finish on the back of the neck is developing a sort of "sheen" in the areas where I play most frequently. Not necessarily turning out to be as sticky/tacky a gloss as a typical Fe**er finish; instead it's got a rather fast, pleasant glide to the touch!
Anyone else experiencing this on their 'S'?

My first bass was a Rickenbacker...
My best bass is a Rickenbacker...
My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

I haven't noticed that on mine Alvaro, but you probably play yours more than I do mine. So from what I am reading am I correct in saying that you like the sheen?

Yup... mark me down as liking an "aged" Rickenbacker Satin Finish... at least aged as much as it is to this point!
I'm putting it down to the "personalization" process that makes the bass "mine all mine"!
