'05 4003 FG VP VC for sale mint

Post by ben_brown »

I am selling my '05 4003 which is only 4 months old. I am offering it to my forum buddies first before it goes on Ebay. It has the factory installed toaster neck pup option and the vintage case option. I have installed the vintage tone control which does sound great I might add. This is the only mod that has been done to this bass. I do know what I am doing when it comes to wiring and such so there is no worry there. There are no issues what so ever with this bass. I am selling it so I can get a 73-74 4001. I like the older neck profiles better. I paid $1500 for this bass just 4 months ago from PM Blues in Pawtucket, RI. I have played this bass only twice in a "jam" situation and other than that it has stayed in my home. It might have 10 hours of play time on it. I think I have had it out of the case more times taking pictures of it than I have had it out playing it. The silver vintage case is in mint condition as well. I am trying to get $1300 for it shipped(to the lower 48 states) to your door. I also might consider a reasonable trade as well. Pictures can be seen at this url. http://members.bellatlantic.net/~telebass/Rickenbacker4003/index.html
If larger pics are needed I can send them to you.

She is a beauty Ben. I would jump on it in a minute if I had the funds. I have definitely exceeded my guitar budget for the year. Good Luck in selling her.

Ben, I think many of us want, but the 75th release vacuumed up a lot of disposable income from the gang.

It's condition, the sweet additions, the color and case make it a nice deal for anyone able to move. I think she would fly quick on ebay, but if you can let her ride here over the weekend, it may catch the eye of some of the members that are perhaps too busy during the work week.

Good luck Ben, I would be gassing had I not just pony-ed up for some 75th hardware.
I'm just happy to be here.

That is a beauty Ben. I also am waiting for a 75th 4003, and want the slimmer neck profile.

How did you like dealing with PM Blues? I am in MA and they're about an hour from me. I tried to get in touch with them for a 75th bass but only got answering machines.

Ben:

I don't think it's a matter of folks here not wanting it.

I agree with J. Gary.

I'd imagine a lot of the spare change was sucked up by the 75th models.

It's right up my alley, a toaster, a sweet color and great condition, but I too have been 75th-ed!Image

Hang in there, I'm sure you will sell it in short time.

I would love it Ben, but I have exceeded my guitar budget by a wide mark this year. You can partially blame Chris Pappas. Image
