My thanks again to everyone, I believe we all had a great time and became a part of Rickenbacker History! Ah "BETSY" I'd love to be a part of her restoration, but I'll settle for seeing her when she's finished. Hopefully you and Dave can do a spread when she's all back together.

Dale, it was YOU who provide ME with the opportunity to play my first international gig...as a drummer! It was an absolute hoot and certainly one of the highlights of my US visit.

As far as your visit to Australia is concerned, you just name the date and we will make it happen. Howard, Greg Rahilly, Ron Viney and I would love to host you here in Melbourne.

I can just see next year's Aussie confluence growing into grand proportions....Dale, the Hall family (on vacation), Eric, Kenny, Alison, Matt... Image

Oh, and to set the record straight, I do believe that the idea of posing with the Mood Maidens actually started with some brave Aussie taking the plunge...then everyone jumped on the bandwagon! Image

I've had considerable time to reflect on the surprises I experienced during the festivities, which were many and varied.

Undoubtedly, the warmth, generosity and spirit of so many Forumites was overwhelming. Simply bloody fantastic. Many lasting friendships have been made.

The opportunity to get up and jam was a blast. I could've played for hours. Image

Partying until nearly sunrise with The Bottles Gang. You know who you are. I have photos. Image

Meeting The Smithereens, seeing them play and being called "Jerry" by lead singer Pam DiNizio.

Cruisin' guitar shops in Graham's rented Pimpmobile, and then touring the sights of Huntington Beach with Graham, Alison and Bjorn.

Witnessing the generosity shown by everyone in their contribution towards Peter McCormack's surprise package.

Experiencing John Hall's hospitality and generosity first hand. I still haven't come down to earth yet. Image

Darren typed "seeing them play and being called "Jerry" by lead singer Pam DiNizio."

I think you just got "Pam" back, ha ha!

I've been called Jerry since I can remember. Perhaps I'll change my name to Darren or Pat.

Funny pix. I like the pose, Jerry. How does it get better than that? The timing was perfect.

Getting back to the title of this thread, I'd have to say the versatility of Rick instruments was a surprise. All of the guitars and basses that we heard all weekend long(except two maybe) were Ricks. From Chris Squire's bass to the Cheyenne bass that Marty Wilson-Piper's bass player used...they all sounded great and had such different tone.

On the guitar side, from acoustic 6 to acoustic 12 to electric 6 and electric 12. I'm a bass player and don't know RIC's guitar models very well, but I did see and hear enough to now know how versatile the lineup is. The Jefferson Starship guy positively RIPPED UP that HB-1 equipped (360?) on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." Smithereens guy also...Wow! It was so nice to see and hear all those great Ricks.

Just a couple examples out of SO many. I'm short on time and keep getting distracted as I try to write this, but I think I've said what I wanted to say!

Hi gains!

Man, I'd never heard them as far as I know. They are great sounding pups!

They are the sound I've been looking for!

I don't know, Jerry, you are getting great sounds out of what you have!
