Hi All,

I keep the bass in a cool room during the hot/warm time and a relatively warm room when it's cold out.

What kind of case humidifier are you kids using out there?

I've heard of people keeping a small piece of apple in a baggy of sorts and leaving it in the case. That however is something I have not tried.

Similarly I have heard and seen folks using a potato split in a plastic soap travel case with holes drilled in it. But only with acoustic instruments. Have not seen it with solid bodies.

I should look into a climate controlled room of some sort. I once had a Custom Shop Strat that literally turned into mush because I accidentally left it near a baseboard during the winter.

I don't use a case humidifier, but the conditions my basses see are usually pretty moderate. If we have a gig that could be extreme (ie. a summer outdoor gig in 100 degree & humid air), I will usually both take a cheaper bass and leave it in its case to acclimate for hours before exposing it. I haven't had any humidity problems with my basses to date....
