That was a letter received and read on air by the regular hosts of a popular public radio program.

If the little woman is a blond, hmmmmmm.......

Mike, I've an idea, sell the bass to your lovely bride. That way you can "keep" the old bass and pick up the new one. BRILLIANT!!!!

Yep, hard to believe I'm still single!
I'm just happy to be here.

Mike, I understand your situation. I just want to add my little story.

Long time ago, with a former wife, I contemplated getting rid of all my music gear. The ex stopped me when I got to the 4001 and the 1966 Fender Mustang.

Probably the only nice thing she ever did for me.

My policy has been liquidate everything except the guitars. All the other stuff is replaceable, but the instrument is what you actually play.

Unless of course you don't like an instrument...but if you are seeling beacuse of fiscal stress reasons, getting rid of an instrument is a bad idea. You'll get enough $ to make one month a little easier? Then you'll never have that instrument to play again.

Not a fair trade, IMO.

Good luck! Image

I'll feel guilty if Mike sells it to me now!

Anyone else got a nice Ricky bass to sell to me instead, someone who's selling to buy or upgrade another would be better LOL!

Seriously I've sold guitars im my time, sold a 63, Fender Jaguar so I could afford to go to a European football final in Copenhagen, Denmark, to see Arsenal & we lost after extra-time & penalties................!

Usually I sell recording equipment if I am broke though, plus it's losing value quicker & can always be replaced easier later on.

Don't feel guilty John, If i sell, You will get first refusal just like i said.
Even if you get another while waiting on me, i'm sure it will sell at that price.
It will probably be me that feels guilty..

Regards

Don't do it!!! I sold two mint V-63's right as they were going up in price and didn't realize it. I bought them brand new and sold them to guess what? get married!! haha! I need that chain letter now. I also sold a mint FG 75 4001 with most of the old features 4 years ago and STILL regret it. In fact I regret selling just about every piece of equipment I've ever sold including most amps.

We had a thread here a few years ago of all the stuff we had sold over the years, would have been a full warehouse of vintage equipment.

I want to thank everybody who PM'd me regarding the bass.

Well, the wife said "You are not selling it, and i don't care if you do need the money, and if you do sell it, i'll divorce you"!!!

I think that means i'm not allowed to sell it..

I never know she was so attached to it.

Thanks and regards to those who Pm'd me.
