If he turned down 2,500.00 for that bass it had to be a scam !

If that isn't a scam, then someone found a nice bass and just wanted to see what people are willing to pay for it. Probably a scam though.

Is that a 73? Did the 73's have the full width inlays? That one doesn't appear to have them, but it's hard to tell from the pics.

73 was the transitional year. Full width inlays went away around April or May? (hope I'm right)although as you say, it is hard to tell if those are full width. That is one nice looking bass. My '73 is a December (ML), so all the goodies were gone by then.
