It's definitley a great deal for a COTY 4003, or any 4003 for that matter, I am just not a Monty fan and not in the market for a bass, either.

My '05 4003 BBR has a nice thin neck.

1 large is a steal for that bass. I can always tell the difference (Without cheating) between '04 and '05 MBs. I have an '03 4003VP, and an '04 350v63 both in MB and they're considerably "lighter" in terms of shading, which I prefer. The '05's and later are way darker around the edges; not clown-glo, but close. The good news for late-'05 owners is that they get walnut ears and tone circuits.
