RIC guitar stands

I want to order two of the new RIC three-guitar stands that were seen at the confluence but I can't seem to find 'em in their online boutique. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Any opinions on how well these work with 4001 basses? I can't recall where, but I remember someone posting their concern that they might be slightly unstable with basses. Put that to rest if you can.

Gary answered that he suspected it was not set up properly. Both he and Joey Vasco used them for their excellent bass collections at the 75th confluence and up on tables to boot. Very stable; I felt no qualms unsnaping and taking any down to hold and play, and neither did they worry when all did this.

There is a trick to setting them up, which I believe Gary showed me...there are two removable foam blocks covered in the same crushed velour as the case insides. These need to be moved to the outboard edges of the open case, and shoved against the inner support boards to hold them firmly against the case edges. These are quite steady when set up this way.

Paul, sorry I missed you at the confluence. After having a few symptoms, I spent the remainder of the afternoon driving to, waiting for, and being examined by an ophthalmologist.

Dane, I'm one of the more invisible members here. I originally registered to get appraisals on my 362/12 and 4005 (both from 1979). At that time, those models didn't appear with any where near the "frequency" that they now do (well, the 4005 anyway) and I wanted a better idea of what I might realize with a sale. I probably didn't make any friends here by selling them on eBay without offering them first here.

I didn't advertise my presence by jumping in with a splash because I didn't know if I would continue posting, and I'm more the type to wade in quietly. (Yup. In school I always tried to sit in the back and rarely raised my hand. Freud could explain this but I'm too old to care.)

I do lurk a lot, learning much and having a good chuckle at times (that bit with the photo of the Beatles and their nylon string acoustics accompanied with the text about Ringo being the master and Paul having difficulty grasping the matter at hand was pure gold!).

I'd love to post more but, either I don't have the knowledge to respond to the question at hand, don't have anything witty or interesting to add, or, more often than not, stare at a blank white box for a minute or two and then click the back button. I believe I burned myself out posting in the Apple Discussion Forums back in the 1990s. Even the free software and Apple logo merchandise wasn't enough to keep me there.

My name is either an old English or old French boy's name. A name that is still used for boys in Quebec but nowhere else, really. Like names such as Courtney, Lauren, Darcy, Gail, and others, once the name began to be used for girls, it quickly fell from favour as a boy's name. (Yes, I always have to explain this).

I received my first guitar in 1974, but didn't begin playing for three years. I have a '74 4001, '86 4003/S5, '87 4001V63, '01 360/12, and an '05 360. I've also had a '73 480 in addition to the two mentioned at the top of this post.

I listen to Beatles, Rush, Costello, Nena (she's done a lot more than "99 Luftballons"), Cheap Trick (ealy live stuff is the best), early Ramones, early DEVO, early B-52's, Alizee (yes, I listen to it), and a few other ones.

I don't drink, smoke, take drugs, shout loudly, wear hats while in restaurants, or belch or use coarse language while in the presence of others. Should I ever be invited to a party, I'd be lots o' fun. In a fancy restaurant, I know which side the bread plate is on, and which fork is for fish, but I can't afford the food.

There. I've spent about 30 minutes on this post and that's the best I could do. Frustrating! I also have a job interview tomorrow so I guess I should get some sleep.

Great post, Jocelyn, keep up the good work! Actually, you're not the first whose gender is a "question" for fella: there's a member here named Vanya Blackabee who i thought was a guy (because in Russia, Vanya is boy's name) but she wasn't, and somebody (yes, i do remember who you were!

) once said something like: "Sheena Colvin could be a female member but I'm not sure" (that given i have "f" in my profile!). So, that happens.

Living in Quebec for almost 40 years now, I can tell you that here Jocelyn is only for boys.

Jocelyne is the ladies spelling. I married a Jocelyne. When pronounced properly in French, the ladies version is a very sexy, melodic name.

Now, I saw the guitar stand hold three basses at the Canadian mini-confluence and it was very stable.

Although I have spent a couple of hours with you, talking Ricks and going over the 362/12 in detail (it's now in the appreciative hands of Graham Griffith), I feel that I know you better. And I'm sorry to hear about your ophthamological problem. I was hoping to catch up at RIC75. I hope all is well now!
