"doesn't sound a bit like Cagney..."
I taped "Help" (well, the audio portion) with my Consumer's Distributing $24.00 tape recorder back in early 1976, off our cheap television. Thus, I can basically recite it from memory, as I used to listen to it all the time back then.
Did the same thing with "The Rutles" back in March of 1978.
Probably an obvious comment, but with only audio to listen to, I committed both pretty close to memory...something a VHS tape or DVD didn't inspire in me.
Of course, I was also much older and actually had things I had to do when those formats became available.
Friday night....I'm staying up watching "Help!"

I saw it first on video....wayyyy back, with a friend...I'll never forget the scene in the cops office...the phone call "Ringo, go to the window"...and the dude shoots an arrow with a balloon full of red paint above Ringo's head!! ...then the following arrow that pops it!! ..with the sound effects... I about ******* my pants from laughing soooo hard...omg that was funny!!!
