And in Fiji it means, sugar.

Undoubtedly your refinish will be spectacular, Paul, but I really do like the natural finish.

You mean I said "sugar *****"?

It does have a sweet sound. But it's politically incorrect.

Oh, well.

Ahem. "Beach glo" (to avoid political incorrectness) - will that do? Or simply "sukaglo"? Image

"sukaglo" sounds like the hero, or villian from a 70's blaxploitation film!

OK, yuppers, now don't shoot me. These are spray booth shots, and I think we've determined that it's the lights in there that screw up blues and greens.

But how can I NOT show you progress on this honey?

Last week I got the color onto the maple and spruce. Then the binding was scraped (me, with a single-edged razor blade, just like the nice ladies do at the Rick factory...)

Then, the clearcoat. The whole guitar went...WHANNGG!!! and all the colors brightened up and it really sung!

OK, the edges aren't blue; they are dark aqua. The front spruce panel is not army olive drab, it's a nice golden color with dark aqua edges. And all the beautiful curls show through. This is one of the very few guitars I've done lately that don't have ambered varnish; it would turn the whole thing greenish. So the binding is pure white.

Enough talk. Here it is:

OMG!!
My jaw hit the floor after seeing this one.
Paul, that is simply stunning.
Beautiful work. Looks like it should be in a museum.
