I'm a fervent believer in natural products for care on wood. It seems odd even to me, but I find that even 100% chemical, man-made plastic finishes such as non-oiled Ricks have, look their best when protected with a natural composition, water-soluble wax like Zymol.
I mention this because Cory Care sells one of my favorite nonsense-chemistry finish care products, and for guitars, yet--a magic resin protectant with Teflon®.
These do shine and protect. But I call them "zombie-shine" waxes; they're down on wax content, high on resin (in many cases a pseudonym for silicone) and BS. Y'know the guys you see at county fairs with a new car hood and a bottle of lighter fluid?
Same stuff, different name.
BTW, when's the last time you saw the word "fervent" in print? Almost looks wrong sitting there so self-righteously...
