This week's new song: Check out 'Goodbye Jenny' - the gratuitous pop hit from the 'Dysfunctional Illaureate' CD, which incidentally, is for sale. Buy it now!! Kevin Cole did!

Thanks for the info, Tom & Greg. I'll continue to use myspace for the weekly stuff, but for special showcase tunes, it'd be good to have an alternative.

Jerry: you need to get your bass player into a 4003! Great song, BTW.

Mark: patiently awaiting 'Joy Bomb' release!

Thanks Kevin. A fate would have it, I ordered a 4003JG back in November as a gift for him (shhh...it's a secret) and it just arrived at Mike Parks' last week, so after a set up and toaster installation, it'll be winging it's way to his front door and surprising him!

Excellent on both counts!
I find a Rick clank perfectly compliments that bouncy Strat tone, and everything else I guess!

Agreed Kevin - some of my favorite stuff with the guitarist I play with is when he is using one of his strats.

Jerry - a fine choice - some bassist is going to feel like Christmas came early!!!

Mark - I like Goodbye Jenny - Out of the 4 Better Than You and The Seduction are my faves.

Thanks Tom. Interesting choice of favorites... 'Better' and "Seduction' are at very opposite ends of the spectrum as far as the stuff I write goes.

Hi Walker,
From Earl Scruggs and Lester Flats to Yoyo Ma - Tuvin throat singers to Bocelli... My tastes cover a wide range of stuff - about the only two I can think of I never cared much for is negative Gangsta rap and most Disco stuff (Zappa's Dancin Fool excluded)... Much like art, food, wine and beer and a host of others; I like 'Good' stuff and to me if I like it, it is 'good' - if I don't like it then it is not.... Very subjective but it works for me. Keep crankin... I like it!!!

Nice! Variety is definitely the spice of life.

On the subject of Disco - funny you should bring it up - just earlier today I laid my big decree on a co-worker of mine that Disco was a valid positive musical entity before it was exploited by the media and in turn transformed into the watered-down drivel that became so popular in the late 70's.

I blame the BeeGees.

There it is. I said it. No regrets.

Rickenbacker 330/6 used on So Cruel and The Other Side. There are so many effects on my board I do not think the rick sound comes thru...LOL

I blame producers ($$$$)... often true with the first issues. Say after a Start Wars or Boyz in the Hood all the clones that come after... saturation. That may have been true with Disco... there are a couple I liked, but not many! And most of the ones I do like were early; now that I think about it.

Hey, kids! Time for this week's new song on Myspace. I've posted a cover this time - 'Here, Not There' by late-80's/early-90's industrial disco diva Jane Child. This is a very bare recording - just bass & voice. I used the 1968 4001 played through the SWR & 4x12 Hiwatt cab. Enjoy! (or not, it's all good.)
