Has anyone been to Abbey Road Studios?

Post by westtexasrickenbacker »

I have pictures of the studio building a friend took years ago, but alas, I haven't been to London.

How does the building look now? I know Studio One is huge, Studio Two is fairly large and Studio Three is the smaller one. How big is the building itself? Is it an independent building, or kind of row house type structure?

It is an independent building. I've never been on the inside.

The building looks very unassuming. The parking lot in front is very small. I haven't been inside either.

People still graffiti the little concrete wall that runs the length of the property. Macca's home is only a block and a half away on Cavendish Avenue. A very quick walk from the studio.

I went there in '84, and didn't get any further than the front door, LOL...

I've walked by the building in '88 and '94. It's a short walk from the Tube station to Paul's house and then down to the Abbey Road crosswalk and the studio.

On a Sunday, early '80's. The door guard talked to us about seeing the Beatles there all the time, but we couldn't go in. Image

I suspect Roy got inside through the door, but who knows.
This is off the record
