350v6312 ohm readings

Post by anonymous »

Hi-I'm new to the board and want to start out by saying what a great source of information this is! I just acquired a '97 350v6312, and am going throught the motions of setting it up to give me that classic Rick sound and feel. I have already put in a .0047f cap, but I am getting p/u readings of 3.79/3.78/3.77 from the bridge forward. I was expecting higher values and would like to know if these are typical values for this era model. Also, can anyone interject any other work that would bring this guitar closer to vintage sound/playability? Thanks, Mark

Mark: Just how are you taking your readings. These readings would be noticeably below what would be expected should you be measuring each pickup out of the circuit.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I'm doing a survey on pickup resistances at the moment and I am very interested in these results. If you are not sure you have made the measurements correctly then please see the post by 360dave under the thread for pickup resistance survey in the rickenbacker guitar section of this forum. Cheers
