Randy's right, Stan. The moment you enter the door you will be plummeted with arrogant viscious demanding dealers who have to stand behind a white line asking what you have and practically forcing you to surrender to their offers.

I would walk the room and shop whatever you bring and not be susceptible to unprofessional sophomoric tactics.

Appreciate the information, Mike. I'll leave it up to my friend to see if he wants to subject himself to possible abuses and hassles from dealers. He has a couple of low end Gretsch's, I'm not even sure of the models, he wants to unload. It'll be his call.

I was not profiling. In my experience they always pay the highest dollar. In guitars I have sold at shows they would generally pay close to retail, where as local buyers would pay approximately half as much.

I was jokin', Ken. As I said, I'll let my friend deal with it. I'm just glad I'm not trying to sell anything. I'm going to be there just to buy. He's going, just to sell.

Okay. I've talked to Peter & Graham from England, Ted Staberow, and Scott Jennings, as far as getting together for a dinner friday night before the show. Any more hands? Stan? Randy Zimmerman? R.C.? Anyone else? All forum members are more than welcomed! Looking to go to Javier's (mexican food, drinks & cigars) or Cool River (continental, drinks & cigars).

Graham & Pete -- My friend DC Olson will also be there; the guy who paid the ball last year.

Mike, is that "paid the bill" or "paid the bail"? Image

I won't be able to make any Friday night activitites. I'll be in Atlanta on Friday and I'm not scheduled to arrive in Houston until 8pm. I'll spend the night at home before driving up to Arlington Saturday morning.

Ahh, were it that simple! Too many irons in the fire, with winter coming. But then you wouldn't know about that, being in the Valley of the Sun and all! ;)

Thanks for the invite, Mike. Plan to be there Friday night, staying at the Wyndham and will see how things progress.

Mike: Put me down as a maybe. I'm still trying to decide how much time I'll be spending in Arlington.
