On my monitor that's an accurate representation of the color.
There is wear (rivet dents) on the back of the body, & in places on the back of the neck. On the back of the neck a couple of spots are through the CV, but only the usual headstock dings are down to the wood.
It plays pretty good, but not perfect, there is a little relief in the neck & average fret wear. No split at the nut.

The AZ 4001 on ebay is still a reasonable price.
Some checking in the finish, but it's pretty cool.

Matt, while I see you have said you are not interested in a 4003 i have to ask why?

I began playing in 1979.shortly there after my brothers friend broke out his 77 white Ric and i was in love.

I couldnt find one right away and ended up with a 68 P bass for about 10 years.

I stoped playing for a few years sold the P and then in 93 got the itch again and bought an Aria real cheap to see if I still wanted to play without droping a lot of cash

I really didnt play that much until late in 2000 after i moved out of NYC. I was in a local music store and there was an old ric on the wall. I should have bought it as it was only 800 bucks but i wanted a brand new one.

I put down a deposit and in 3 months got my brand new 2001 4003.

best damn thing I have ever done. Musically that is

If you've got your heart set on a particular item, you won't really be happy with anything less. I know the feeling, & it doesn't go away 'til you scratch the itch properly.

Dang, that Azure 4001 is less than an hour from my place! Having just sprung for the Mapleglo 4001 I talked about in my inaugural post, it'd be tough to find extra cash right now. Still, I'm putting it on my watch list. Maybe I can move an item or two on craigslist to free up some cash. Sure would like a second Rick to put some flats on.

It's a player, not a looker, with the finish checking, but it IS an AzureGlo!

hey Kevin I might be interested in that bass...I have offers from people to jam with them and to be in bands and I want to get cracking on that as soon as possible and my current POS 300$ Yamaha with a completely shattered nut will not cut it at all. How much did you want to sell it for? e-mail me with the price if you want and since I'm in the Greater Moncton area and you're in Ahmerst maybe I could come check the bass out in person before buying it? It would have to be on a weekend though.

Ilan, did you see this? Other than my OJ 1975 (White, Black Plexi TRC, and 1 inch pickup spacing) this is the only '75 I have seen with those features. Mine a later one, though Image

thanks kevin got the e-mail.

that 75' in vancouver is just a little out of my price range I think. the more I think about it the more it makes sence for me to get kevin's bass...sure it's not in perfect shape but it will be less expensive and I can save the shipping so with the extra money I could get a better amp to compliment the rick if I get kevin's bass.

Ouch! $1800 is a bit much!
Now the bad news...
Complications!
The wife won't let me sell any guitars! She says NO!
Sorry guys! I'll keep an eye out.

Occasionally Ricks do turn up at local shops. Gig Street in Halifax had either a MID or AzureGlo a few months ago according to our guitarist, who checks there fairly regularly.
Again, sorry for raising hopes!

hey Kevin don't sweat it...usually wives/girlfriends want you to sell your guitars, your's does the opposite so you've got a keeper in my book...looks like my search goes on...I might spring for that one in Vancouver after all but I might need a little student loan(but that's what student loans are for right? haha)

I'm gonna contact the person that is selling the bass in vancouver. What would you guys say this bass is worth? what would you guys pay for it? I know 1800$ is a bit much...would 1600$ be a more resonable price? I'm gonna ask the person if they can come down on the price a bit...I've never bought something from craiglist before so I don't know if these prices are negotiable or not.
