Love the Ricks, of course. I would have bought one of those Epi Gents by now if I knew I could shove some Filtertrons in it. And I've had some sudden GAS for a Phantom teardrop as well!

What kind of music do you play?

Modern rock/art rock original music. Influences include George Harrison, Paul Atkinson, Johnny Marr, John Squire, the Church, Les Paul, Jim Moginie, etc.

As for the Gent, I debated the issue back and forth before placing my order. Seems I can NEVER keep either solidbody or humbucker-equipped guitars for very long. The Epi has enough tone and mojo to stick around I believe; lots of brightness on tap and detail in the sound (and the wire handle Bigsby is a dream). If I ever grow tired of the HB sound, there are several single coil PUs which will drop right in.

The Phantom is a cool guitar too. Imagine a hollowbody, 12-string Fender Jaguar.

That is one nice stable of instruments. I tried to photograph mine a few times but my wife caught me and went ballistic each time when she saw the amount of gear I have tucked away. Some day I'll put up a photo. I just have to time it right.

Hey Noel! That Blueburst Longhorn Bass is the most amazing spectacular incredible phenomenal outstanding looking little bass I ever did see!!! No flies on the rest of the stuff either. Seriously nice stuff! Hope all's well.

In my divorce, I kept the house AND the instruments, Bob. Not that I'm making a suggestion (God, I wouldn't wish that on anyone).

Fran, the Blueburst is a nice finish -as is the Dano Copperburst. *wink*

Occasionally I miss my Aerodyne Tele or Gretsch, but overall I'm thrilled with my guitars. Of the 10 instruments pictured, 7 are lifelong keepers.

*Wink* acknowledged! Kept the instruments in my divorce too, but lost the house, car and furnishings. Oh well!

I got to keep the house and the dog, but I had to give up the entire kingsize bedroom set to keep the dog.

How does that Phantom play? Are the Phantoms top-notch guitars as far as quality and components go?

Jeff, the Phantom XII plays quite nicely. The neck has a flatter radius than I'm used to but it's not too distracting. The string spacing/nut width is much wider than a Ric 12.

As far as total quality goes, if a Ric is a 10 out of 10, the Phantom would be a 7.5, 8 at best. Still a nice guitar.

Noel you have a very nice collection. You have far too many Rickenbackers though. Can I be of assistance? LOL

That "axe" bass would be right at home with Gene Simmons et al.
