Why the differences on my 650???

Post by dannyboy »

After looking at pictures through different sites, I noticed major anomalies with my 92 650 Frisco/Excalibur.
1st: I have only on truss rod!
2nd: In the back of the neck, where it meets the body, my curve is straight (like on my 330)... all the 650's that I have seen on pictures have an angle in the curve to make it easier to play high notes!
Do I own a prototype of some sort??? Is my 650 normal for that year? Someone, anybody???

Dan, you've got an early 650 there. I've got a '93 Dakota and it too has only one trussrod. John Hall told me that the early ones had only one. I'll have to recheck the heel on my guitar to see if it's like yours. Don't forget: RIC will make changes in it's lineup. Late in '02, they thinned (front to back) the 660 neck. Progress, son, progress. :-)
