Blazer: Notwithstanding your intent to have something for your personal use and amusement, it is safe to say that this sort of thing is a sensitive topic with RIC.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

But I'm sure that if some father made a plywood cut out in the shape of a rickenbacker bass to use in a son or daughter's mimed performance at school and put up pictures of that on the web that Mr. Hall would let it slide.

He has more worries with Italia and their Rimini Bass which apes the 4005 VERY closely. Or Indie guitars who have closely matching 330 and 330/12 guitars in their range which are big sellers.

I am posing no thread with my ONE-OFF ornament.

Wouter, as far as I am aware My Hall is obliged to diligently follow up any RIC fakers from wherever they come from, that is a one man band having a bit of fun to a multi national. It might be an idea to say that you were not aware of this, as indeed it appears you were not, and promise to file your desk top ornament in the bin. Please take this in the friendly spirt that it was meant. Bob

Well, I'll await if I get a cease and desist note from Mr. Hall and his team or not.

This thing is just standing at home. So even if I DO get a cease and desist note it'll stay where it is, on my desk at home.

Dane can rebel all he wants, but the law is the law. But, like JH also said, what he don't know won't hurt you.

Hmmm..since JH ran off after a few forumemites critiqued the 75th Anniversary guitars, I don't think he'll see it....unless someone here tells him.

You can bet that John checks in on this forum from time to time. I have seen one post that he's left since the 75th Anniversary comments.

He has emailed me about a mistake in one of my posts since the incident, so he is reading.

Without wishing to open any wounds, what happened with the 75th bass? I know I said I would feel very let down if it was the old fatter neck, but I don't remember anyone saying anything bad about the bass.

I'm mad at them. Darn things go too fast. Gone in a matter of hours.

Hey Fran, if you get that saw out could you make me a 75th?
I'm just happy to be here.

It wasn't just the basses, it was the 75th Anniversary issues in general. It started out with everyone speculating what might be on them or included with them, then some people got upset (and persistent about it) that they weren't being issued in vintage cases, that there wasn't a COA, that they weren't worth $500 extra only to get a special color, pickguard and TRC, etc.) John took exception to what he called whining.
