Who needs Ben when you have Paul and Dale, no offense to the Halls, they do make some of the best guitar/ basses in the world. But when you really want something done your way, there are avenues to Git-R-done. And I know there are people that look down on the refin thing, but I think that in the future a Paul or Dale creation will have great value, they will have recognition beyond this forum by then.

A quality finish job is a thing of beauty & great value, irrespective of whether it came from the factory or not. Sooner or later most people will realize that.
The same as the fact that age does not make an object valuable beyond it's intrinsic value (except in collector's minds).
Now, where's that old horse...

Mark, not everyone of us have deep enough pockets to get a bass and have it refinished to our specs. Now if I wasn't marrried or have kids in college.....
