PodXT vs. BassPodXT

Is there really a difference? Anybody ever played a bass through a (guitar) PodXT?

Speak of the devil...I just did that this evening. I have a couple-week old pod xt pro (rackmount) for guitar. I absolutely love it and I'm looking to find a used xt pro for bass. It sounds ok...a little distorted on most of the amps/combos. Usable though.

I'm surprised--I would have thought they would try to make you buy both units. Although it is $100. I imagine you could set the signal chain to account for the different EQ and the bigger bottom end.

I used a Pod Pro (guitar) for the last few years almost 100% exclusively for bass. Like Alisha said, not all amp models are useable, but some are. You can get some great tone from it.

The Bass Pod(s) are definitely tuned for bass. I have both the bass and guitar versions of the Pod XTlive and bass doesn't sound great via the guitar pod.

I got the bass model pack for the guitar Pod XTlive, but I haven't had any time to check it out. I suspect that it will be 'ok' but not as good as the native Bass Pods.

Just as I like playing guitar through a bass amp, and I prefer the bass pod over the guitar pod for guitar ( I have both).
I only use my guitar pod for tuning. Oh, I did record my Casino through it with great results, so nevermind.

Any suggested POD (guitar) settings for bass guitar? I've had luck with the 4x10 Bassman model but I'd like to find a little SVT "gronk".
