Please ID These Guitars

Post by admin »

These photos are of the Youngbloods. I would like to ID the guitars, particulary those of Jesse Young and Jerry Corbitt.

The top photo with the 12-string looks to be a Guild Starfire XII and the intsrument in the bottom photo a Gibson Les Paul Custom.

Just a guess here but the 12 string looks like it could be a Hagstrom Viking-12. And the guitar in the bottom picture could be either a Harmony or a Guild Bluesbird.

John: The photo is from the "Get Together" days and so around 1967. The M-75 (Solid body)Guild Bluesbird did not come online until 1970. The pickup covers on the Bluesbird also look somewhat different from those in this photo. Having said that, the profile and features of the guitar in the bottom photo do resemble the Bluesbird. Nice obbservation.

Funny - I was thinking the guitar in the bottom photo might be a Guild or a Hagstrom. It's not a Swede (no humbuckers, and I think 1967 is a bit early).
