Thanks for your comments everyone.
RC, the first trick to the SRV style is to turn the guitar pick upside down and use one of the two rounded corners, not the pointy end. It gets your thumb and forefinger closer to the strings.

Awesome, Darren. I had a wonderful experience about ten years ago, to jam with the Glenn Miller band.
I sat next to the guitar player, even though I was an undergraduate trombonist, but I wanted to learn some guitar that day.
The guy was probably four times my age, and his last name was Marshall. He played through a mini Marshall amp, which he set on his music stand facing himself. He had a great sense of humor and "boasted" that they made that amp just for him, since his name was on it. He was the first to teach me to play with the fat side of the pick. Great for fat chunky chords.

....Egads, I feel like I've just given birth, and there is no way I'm going to fall asleep tonight, LOL! Champagne anyone? Cheers!
I'm sure my hubby would have a cigar, but he went to bed hours ago, LOL!
Does the thrill of recording something that actually sounds kind of good onto a CD wear off after you've done it a few times?

"Once I've held and played the best, baby, I won't settle for less!"
