75th Anniversary value speculation

Post by cheyenne »

List?

Alot of dealers were charging the full list price.

Just wondering what the starting bid will be on the first one to hit Ebay.

I'll bet someone here gets one with the thick neck, hates it, and puts it right on the 'bay. Maybe that'll be the first? Unless Paul W. wants to try an interesting experiment. Image

Yeah, I heard that most of the dealers were charging full list price, even some that charged more. I was able to get a little bit of a discount, but then there is always that big hit of O.C. CA sales tax!

I got a 4003, 360 and 330 at very good price, and another 4003 and a 660 at full retail. I think I came out pretty good. Anyway, I don't think they will lose any value so I think they are a pretty good investment.

I will end up giving the 330 to my son. I'll probably hold on to the second 4003 for a while and see what the market does. I may sell it or just hang on to it.

I got mine for a real good price. I paid for it in full ASAP.

I dont want to p*ss anyone off, but I'm pretty much sick to death of this "thin neck" "thick neck" debate.

If you walked up on a garage sale and there was a 4002 bass lying there that had an unusually "thick neck" for $1200.00 would you pass on it??

I dont think so.

I'm so ham fisted I am barely able to tell the difference between a thin and thick neck. I would be happy with either version of a 75th 4003.

I'm in at $1200 for any 4002.
I'm just happy to be here.

I have 2 75th's on order. Paid list for both. Believe it or not, one was from Ed Roman. He said he's keeping the other...

Not sure where these will go...I don't expect them to rise in value like the LK though...or close...

Im thinking "list price" will be the low ball price.

Comments?

It may take a year or two but they will probably make the 3-4K range. A few will have to hit Ebay first to put a little blood in the water, as it were.

I think right off the bat, list will be the low ball like Scott said, and I wouldn't be surprised if the high was 3K instantly.
Buy it before someone else does.

List after they are shipped is a give away – particularly for the 4003! Guitars are priced above list right now. I know dealers that are willing to pay list for additional 4003’s. I’d say 4–5K starts the game!

As long as you’re not in the NEED to sell, there’s no reason to sell one for 2-3K.

People will buy them

How long before someone asks to have the color reissued?
You know it's not gonna happen.
Plus five minus five!
