This looks fishey to me. It's chrome.

There were a few of these sold on eBay a few years ago before the auction was removed. I bought three before I realized they were not RIC factory items. One looked pretty good on a Fireglo 650C that I owned.

They are clear plastic and the "chrome" looks like it was painted on the back with a brush. It appears the logo was then engraved in the back and then filled with black paint. There were only two holes drilled at the nut end. I had to drill the third hole and it was very close to the end of the logo.

The letters are too rounded, unless vintage TRC's have rounded letters.

Except the ones that are accurate enough to pass as genuine. It's a bit like saying that I can always spot a nose job.
