The good doctor is peddling his rick parts

Thanks Walker and John. Your all's efforts are really appreciated. It still bugs me that someone would rip off something from work; and somehow after collecting dust in a box somewhere it would be OK to sell it as their own. I mean we are not talking an occasional pen or pencil that accidentally makes it into someone's brief case or pocket - this is product! 'geee, now how did that pup get in my pocket -- I think I'll sell it?' Really a shame noting else can be done. Rant over... sorry.

It's not only product, but prototypes. That's more like industrial espionage than theft.
Well, for one thing, it definitely proves what sort of character (or lack of it) 'Doc" has.
No worries over possibly jumping the gun & blaming him for circumstances beyond his control.
Verdict: GUILTY!

Plus five minus five!
Definite IP (Intellectual Property) potential here. R&D $$ spent and sometimes that stuff sits for years before being used or re-examined for use. I'm not grabbing nail and a hammer here but it just irks me that they have such blatant disregard for others property.

Dale,
I wrote to John about the truss cover, and asked about using it for a custom guitar strap that I had wanted to have made. I wanted to be sure that it was ok to use the Rickenbacker nameplate !!
At that point the history of the item was explained and also the fact that it was very strongly suspected that the part in question had "walked" out of the factory years ago.
I offered to return the Cover, which John declined. The offer is still open.
